In The Last Days Of The Sun by From The Dark marks a pivotal moment in the history of New Zealand’s black metal scene. Initially recorded and released in 1997, this demo was one of the first to capture the essence of pure Black Metal from this location in a time when the genre’s influence was echoing beyond Europe and stretching to reach the most distant corners of the globe. Drawing inspiration from the raw and atmospheric black metal movements of the 90’s, influences derived from Thrash and other genres, and combining that with themes deeply rooted in arcane occultism and Eastern esoteric matter, From The Dark began to cultivate a sound that was as cold as the winds that sweep across their isolated homeland.
Out of print and unobtainable for over 20 years, now available again on CD in a limited edition with improved sound, handwritten lyrics and restored original artwork.
